Lady Jessica is a Bene
Gesserit sister, who served as a concubine
to Duke Leto Atreides.
She was spotted by Thuffir Hawat in the Wallach
IX B.G. School and joined Duke Leto on Kaladan.
Though he did not marry him, she gave birth to
his legal heir, Paul, defying the orders of her
sisterhood to bear a daughter. She is said to
have done so both as a token of her love to the
duke and in the hope of fullfilling the ancient
B.G. dream, thus producing a Kwisatz Haderach.
Lady Jessica followed her Duke on the planet
Arrakis, where she had to face the consequences
of the Harkonnen invasion. She managed to escape
death with her son and penetrated the Fremen
community, becoming a Reverend mother. There the
training she has been giving to Paul becomes of
unique importance for their survival and his becoming
the leader in the Arrkis revolt.
After Paul beomes an emperor and in the view
of the new threats on Arrkis, Lady Jessica's motives
become subtler and she starts training the Corino
House heir the same way she had with Paul before.
